Deputy Speaker Lauds Senate President Akpabio’s Role in South East Development Commission Bill Passage

During the homecoming reception of Senate President Godswill Akpabio in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, extended commendations to Akpabio for his instrumental role in the passage of the South East Development Commission Bill. The bill recently underwent its third reading in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.

Representing the Speaker of the House, Abbas Tajudeen, Kalu expressed gratitude to Akpabio for his support, emphasizing the bill’s significance in addressing the lingering wounds of the Nigerian civil war. He praised Akpabio’s leadership and foresight, noting the potential of the bill as a strategic tool for reconciliation and rehabilitation in the South East region.

Kalu acknowledged the collaborative relationship between the parliament and the executive arm facilitated by Akpabio, highlighting the genuine and sincere support extended to the President. He commended Akpabio for fostering unity and coherence among the three arms of government, emphasizing the shared national objective and the alignment of legislative agenda with the executive’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
