Ondo State Deputy Governor Denies Allegations of Enmity with Late Governor Akeredolu

The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olaide Adelami, has vehemently refuted allegations of being a sworn enemy of the late state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, as claimed in a malicious campaign allegedly sponsored by a faction within the Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus in the House of Representatives.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, John Paul Akinduro, Adelami clarified his unwavering support and assistance to the late governor during election campaigns and throughout his tenure in office. Adelami provided financial, political, and spiritual support to Akeredolu, dispelling any notions of enmity between them.

The statement addressed the recent petition reportedly sent to President Bola Tinubu by aggrieved representatives, labeling Adelami as an adversary of the late governor. Adelami dismissed the allegations as baseless and malicious, emphasizing his longstanding commitment to the APC and his support for Akeredolu’s re-election campaigns.

Highlighting Adelami’s contributions to Akeredolu’s political journey, the statement recounted Adelami’s active involvement in campaign activities and his donation of materials to support the late governor’s re-election bid in 2020. These actions, the statement argued, contradict the notion of enmity attributed to Adelami.
