Lagos State Celebrates World Creativity And Innovation Day

The Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation commemorated World Creativity and Innovation Day in 2024, highlighting the pivotal role of creativity and innovation in driving national success. Mrs. Bolaji Dada, Commissioner for Women Affairs And Poverty Alleviation, underscored the significance of creativity and innovation in enhancing a nation’s competitiveness on the global stage and improving citizens’ quality of life.

The event, titled ‘Inspire: Step out and innovate,’ showcased the creativity of students from vocational centers across the state. Held at the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Vocational Centre in Isheri, Berger, the event aimed to inspire participants to discover their potential and pursue their passions.

Dada emphasized the transformative power of creativity in driving progress, solving complex problems, and enabling platforms for growth. She encouraged participants to unleash their inherent potential, emphasizing the importance of confidence and self-esteem in income generation.

Highlighting the state’s commitment to vocational training, Dada revealed that there are 19 vocational centers across Lagos State, with 4,592 beneficiaries graduating last year.

Maji Ayodele, the keynote speaker, advised trainees to invest in their communities and continuously generate new ideas for success. Ayodele emphasized the need for excellence and proactive innovation in a rapidly changing world.

Blessing Caius-Ijeoma, an established trainee from the Mushin study center, shared insights from her experience in hairdressing and cosmetology. She emphasized the importance of a positive attitude and customer follow-up for success in vocational endeavors.
