Labour Party Vows to Champion Change Amidst Nigeria’s Economic Challenges

Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to advocating for a better Nigeria, pledging to persist until they secure the people’s mandate to govern and deliver quality leadership.

Speaking to journalists in Umuahia, Abia State, following a crucial meeting of the LP’s National Working Committee (NWC) with Governor Alex Otti, Abure lamented the dire state of Nigeria’s economy following the removal of fuel subsidy by the APC-led government. He criticized the prevailing leadership ineptitude, attributing the nation’s pervasive poverty to governance failures.

Abure asserted that the LP, as a credible opposition, would vigilantly safeguard the interests of the masses and remain resolute in its quest to assume power in future elections. He highlighted the party’s determination to address the core issues plaguing the country, particularly in areas of economic mismanagement and social inequality.

Citing examples of Nigeria’s economic hardships, including skyrocketing food prices, rampant inflation, and escalating unemployment, Abure emphasized the urgent need for transformative leadership. He underscored the LP’s vision of a New Nigeria, one characterized by prosperity and equitable distribution of resources.

Despite facing persecution due to the party’s disruptive impact on the political landscape, Abure remained undeterred, affirming that the LP would continue to offer a credible alternative to the Nigerian populace. He recounted the party’s significant strides during the 2023 general elections, challenging the established political order and galvanizing support from the masses.

Addressing internal challenges within the party, including allegations and instigations aimed at destabilizing its leadership, Abure assured that the LP would overcome such obstacles and remain steadfast in its pursuit of ethical governance.
