In a tragic incident, an 80-year-old man identified as Isiyaka Ayinde has reportedly taken his own life at the Watch Tower in the Araromi Imota area of Lagos State. The distressing event unfolded around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to reports.
Sources indicate that a tenant in the compound made the grim discovery, finding Ayinde’s lifeless body hanging from a rope in the kitchen. Upon hearing his children’s cries to see “Baba” in the kitchen, he rushed in to find the distressing scene.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that the police had visited the scene, documenting the circumstances surrounding the tragic death. However, due to the deceased’s age and the family’s religious beliefs, they have opted for an immediate burial, eschewing the conventional mortuary process.
