Senate Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (Ekiti Central) announced that he and other members of the Ekiti State Caucus in the National Assembly will support Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term due to his excellent performance and exemplary leadership.
During an inspection of constituency projects in Igede-Ekiti on Friday, Senator Bamidele stated that he and his colleagues would publicly declare their support for the governor’s re-election, with wide publicity in national media.
Accompanied by Governor Oyebanji, Senator Bamidele praised the governor’s transformative leadership and people-oriented policies, which have significantly developed the state. He emphasized the governor’s ability to unify various political factions and mobilize the people for development.
Senator Bamidele highlighted that Governor Oyebanji’s collaboration with National Assembly members has facilitated numerous constituency projects across the six local governments in Ekiti Central Senatorial District. He attributed this to the peaceful and cooperative atmosphere fostered by the governor.
Bamidele expressed gratitude for the governor’s support, enabling lawmakers to return home and work on constituency projects. He affirmed that the National Assembly members would align their projects with the governor’s development agenda, including market development, transformers, and solar street lights.
Praising the governor, Bamidele said, “Anyone who thinks there is a vacancy in 2026 is only deceiving himself,” indicating strong support for Oyebanji’s continued leadership. He assured that all nine National Assembly members from Ekiti would jointly endorse Governor Oyebanji as their consensus candidate.
Governor Oyebanji, in response, commended the commitment of the Senate Leader and his colleagues to the state’s development. He noted that their performance underscored the importance of electing representatives with proven integrity and capacity.
