The sombre arrival of the late Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, DrDrerbert Wigwe, his wife, Chizoba, and their son, Chizi, took place in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. The community, led by the local government chairman, Samuel Nwanosike, and the Ikwerre people, solemnly received their remains at the Airport Omagwa Roundabout.
The heartbreaking journey home marks the culmination of a tragic incident that claimed the lives of Dr Wigwe, his wife, and his son, along with the former Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo. They lost their lives in a helicopter crash on February 9, 2024, near the border between California and Nevada, United States.
