A horrifying incident unfolded on Sunday night as terrorists launched a brutal attack on the Kajuru-Station community in Kaduna State, kidnapping 87 individuals. Harisu Dari, a member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, confirmed the harrowing ordeal, revealing that the assailants also looted shops, making off with food items and valuables.
The assault, which occurred around 10 pm, intensified fears in the region, coming just two days after another abduction incident in the Dogon-Noma community within the same local government area. Kajuru and Chikun Local Governments have witnessed a surge in kidnapping incidents in recent weeks, plunging the state into turmoil.
Harisu Dari expressed the traumatizing impact of the attack, noting the absence of security personnel to reassure the frightened villagers. He emphasized the urgent need for the government to devise effective strategies to combat the escalating threat posed by terrorists.
The abduction of 87 locals adds to the grim tally of over 172 villagers kidnapped by terrorists in the past two weeks, as reported by PUNCH Online. Despite efforts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, for comment, no response was received by the time of filing this report.
