Tax Evasion Case Against Binance Holdings Limited Adjourned to April 19

A Federal High Court in Abuja has postponed the tax evasion case involving Binance Holdings Limited and its executives. The case, initiated by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), accuses the company of tax evasion.

Binance Holdings Limited, along with its officials Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, are named as defendants in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CR/115/2024. The FIRS alleges that Binance failed to register with the service for tax purposes and neglected to issue invoices to subscribers on its trading platform for Value Added Taxes (VAT).

The court adjourned the matter on Thursday due to the FIRS’s inability to serve Gambaryan, who is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Meanwhile, a separate money laundering case brought forward by the EFCC against Binance is currently ongoing.

Further details regarding the tax evasion case and subsequent proceedings will be provided as the case progresses.
