Security Concerns Escalate as Arrest Made in Killing of Ekiti Monarchs

In a recent development, Mr. Jimi Odimayo, a member of the House of Representatives and gubernatorial aspirant in Ondo State, commended the security agencies in Ekiti State for their swift action in apprehending one of the alleged killers of two monarchs. Oba David Ogunsakin and Oba Samuel Olusola were tragically killed last week along Oke Ako-Irele Road in Ekiti State.

Odimayo, representing the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, urged both the Ekiti State Government and local security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend other suspects involved in this heinous crime. He stated, “I have to commend the security agencies for the arrests made so far, and I want to appeal to them to put more effort into apprehending other suspects.”

Expressing concern for the security of lives and properties, Odimayo emphasized the need for proactive measures from all stakeholders. In a statement issued by his Director of Media, Mr. Victor Adedeji, the lawmaker condemned the act and called for vigilance from the public, urging them to report any suspicious activities to the security agencies.

As part of his gubernatorial campaign, Odimayo highlighted security as a top agenda. During his local government campaign tour in Irele, he outlined his commitment to addressing security challenges if elected governor. The statement also highlighted various projects accomplished by Odimayo, including borehole drilling, subsidy removal effect allowances, appointment of aides, and community initiatives.

Looking ahead, Odimayo expressed confidence in securing the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket and sought the support of the people in the upcoming primary elections.
