President Tinubu Vows Self-Sufficiency in Food Production, Lauds Development Initiatives in Niger State

President Bola Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to achieving self-sufficiency in food production in Nigeria before the end of his tenure. He made this declaration during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the 84km, N169.7bn Bida-Minna Road in Niger State.

Represented by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, President Tinubu pledged continued federal support for states fostering development. He emphasized the crucial role of infrastructure, stating that road construction not only saves lives but also fosters economic growth.

Tinubu commended the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, for his exemplary leadership in maintaining peace in Niger State. As a traditional title holder of Jagaba Borgu and a son of Niger, Tinubu expressed his commitment to contributing to the state’s development.

Governor Umaru Bago highlighted the significance of the Bida-Minna Road project, describing it as a fulfillment of promises made to the people of Niger State. He emphasized the project’s economic importance and its alignment with the New Niger Agenda, aimed at transforming the state’s infrastructure and socio-economic landscape.
