President Tinubu Appoints New Leadership for NAICOM

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ms. Halima Kyari as the Chairperson of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), along with other professionals to key positions within the commission. The appointments were announced in a statement issued by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

In addition to Ms. Halima Kyari’s appointment as Chairperson, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin has been appointed as a Commissioner for Insurance. Other professionals appointed to the board include Mr. Olawoye Gam-Ikon as Deputy Commissioner (Technical Operations) and Dr. Usman Ankara Jimada as Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Administration). The board also includes Dr. Miriam Kene Kachikwu, Mr. Adeniyi Olusegun Fabikun, and Mr. Umar Khalifa Mohammed.

President Tinubu expects the new Board of NAICOM to uphold the highest standards of integrity as they lead the commission. Their primary responsibilities include ensuring the safety, soundness, and stability of the insurance sector, while prioritizing the protection of policyholders and the public interest.
