Police Rescue Seven More Abducted Students of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have successfully rescued an additional seven abducted students of the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State. The rescue operation comes after bandits attacked the university on Thursday night, abducting students who were studying for upcoming exams.

According to a statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, deployed the Air Component of Police Security apparatus, including a specially trained helicopter crew for aerial surveillance and monitoring, as well as the state’s Technical Intelligence Unit. This deployment is part of the ongoing rescue operation initiated after the initial abduction last week.

“The diligence and indomitable spirit of all the combined team led to the rescue of additional seven victims, bringing the total to 21,” the statement read. However, the operation continues as efforts persist to ensure the safe rescue of all abducted students and to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The State Commissioner of Police, Bertrand Onuoha, expressed gratitude for the unprecedented cooperation, collaboration, and synergy among security agents, the Kogi State Government, and the university community. He urged continued support and solidarity from the people of Kogi State in ensuring the security of all citizens.
