PDP Governorship Candidate Asserts Unrivaled Credentials Ahead of Ondo State Election

Agboola Ajayi, the gubernatorial hopeful representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming Ondo State election, has boldly proclaimed his unmatched credentials and experience in the state’s political landscape. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today program, Ajayi asserted his formidable background, highlighting his extensive journey through various political roles from a grassroots level to the national stage.

With confidence, Ajayi emphasized his readiness to contest against the incumbent power represented by Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing past instances where incumbent governors were defeated. He showcased a rich political resume, spanning from his early days as a ward chairman to serving as a deputy governor and a member of the House of Representatives.

Asserting his readiness and track record, Ajayi conveyed his commitment to leveraging his experience and capacity to serve the people of Ondo State effectively. He called for a reevaluation of the constitutional roles of the offices of the Vice President and deputy governor to enhance their relevance in governance.

Addressing the absence of Eyitayo Jegede from the gubernatorial race, Ajayi explained the regional dynamics, highlighting the rotational principle in the state’s political leadership. He declined to delve into past disagreements with the late Governor Akeredolu, emphasizing the need to let him rest in peace.

Looking forward, Ajayi outlined his vision for the state’s development, focusing on transforming it into an economically vibrant entity. He proposed strategic infrastructure projects aimed at harnessing the state’s untapped maritime potential, emphasizing the creation of job opportunities and revenue generation.
