OYSIEC Addresses Feedback on Election Material Delays, Ensures Peaceful Local Government Election

Isiaka Olagunju, the Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), has responded promptly to feedback regarding the late arrival of election materials across polling units in the state. Speaking with reporters at the commission’s headquarters in Ibadan after observing the voting exercise, Olagunju affirmed that despite the challenges, the election was conducted peacefully.

Olagunju emphasized the commission’s commitment to addressing concerns raised by stakeholders, particularly regarding the timely delivery of election materials. He acknowledged the inevitability of various feedback during elections but assured the public that OYSIEC is diligently attending to all issues to ensure the success of the electoral process.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamza, corroborated Olagunju’s assessment, confirming that no violence had been recorded during the ongoing local government election. Hamza, who monitored the election alongside other security agencies and the OYSIEC chairman, assured residents of their safety and highlighted the command’s deployment of adequate security personnel to maintain peace and order.

While acknowledging minor complaints from some parts of the state, Hamza emphasized that overall, the election process was proceeding smoothly. He urged voters to exercise their civic rights responsibly and participate in the electoral process without fear.
