Nollywood Icon Ikechukwu Nnadi, aka Andy Best, Passes Away

In a saddening turn of events, renowned Nollywood figure Ikechukwu Nnadi, famously known as Andy Best, has reportedly passed away. Nnadi, who had been battling a lingering illness, breathed his last at a private clinic in Owerri, the capital city of Imo State, on Tuesday.

The confirmation of Nnadi’s demise came through a poignant Instagram post by Mr. Seun Oloketuyi, organizer of the Best of Nollywood awards, who announced the producer’s passing, stating, “Andy Best, a top Nollywood producer and marketer, is dead. He died in an Owerri hospital today.”

Until his untimely demise, Nnadi served as the Chief Executive Officer of Andy Best Production, leaving an indelible mark on the Nigerian film industry with notable works like “Lion of Africa,” “White Poison,” “My Father’s Cup,” among others. Hailing from Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, Nnadi’s creative brilliance and dedication have left a lasting legacy in Nollywood.

As the industry mourns the loss of one of its stalwarts, Nnadi’s remains have been laid to rest at the Aladinma Mortuary in Owerri, with further details awaited.
