Newlywed Wife Flees After Fatally Stabbing Husband in Niger State

In a shocking incident that has gripped the community of Nasarawa village, Lapai Local Government Area, Niger State, a newlywed woman is on the run after allegedly murdering her husband. The Niger State Police Command confirmed the tragic event, stating that Idris Ahmadu was stabbed to death by his wife, Aisha Aliyu, in the early hours of Monday.

DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the Public Relations Officer of the command, announced in Minna that the police were alerted about the incident around noon on Monday. “One Idris Ahmadu…was stabbed to death by his wife, Aisha Aliyu…Before the arrival of the police at the scene, the suspect had fled to an unknown destination; effort is being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect,” Abiodun disclosed.

The case is currently under thorough investigation as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the fatal altercation. Local sources revealed that the couple had experienced a minor argument on Sunday evening, which seemingly resolved before they retired for the night. However, the situation took a deadly turn by midnight when Ahmadu’s mother, alerted by his screams, discovered him bleeding profusely on the floor, with Aliyu nowhere in sight.

The couple, who had been in a relationship for years, tied the knot on December 31, 2023. Reports suggest that Aliyu had harbored reservations about the marriage, having expressed a desire to end the relationship in favor of another man. Despite her reluctance, family intervention led her to proceed with the wedding.
