Lagos Police Conduct Overnight Raid, Arrest 43 Suspects in Oshodi and Surrounding Areas

In a concerted effort to curb criminal activities in Oshodi and its vicinity, the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) conducted a comprehensive overnight operation, resulting in the arrest of 43 suspects across black spots in the area. This operation, aimed at maintaining law and order, also led to the recovery of a semi-automatic pistol in a separate incident.

According to a statement released on the command’s X account on Thursday, the overnight raid targeted notorious spots in Anthony, Bolade Oshodi, and Oshodi Terminus. This strategic move was based on credible intelligence regarding the activities of undesirable elements in these areas.

During the operation, a semi-automatic pistol was seized in Opebi, Ikeja. The deployment of a team from the RRS, under the leadership of Commander CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, led to the recovery of the firearm. Additionally, two 9mm caliber bullets and one expended ammunition were also recovered during the discreet operation.

Following a thorough screening process conducted by the Commander RRS, the 43 suspects apprehended during the raid were found culpable of various offenses. They are set to be promptly charged to court to face the full consequences of their actions.
