Labourer Docked for Allegedly Stealing Mosque Amplifier in Kano State

Abdullahi Garba, a 36-year-old labourer residing in Kawon Lambu Hotoro, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, was brought before a Sharia Court on Monday on charges of criminal trespass and theft for allegedly stealing an amplifier valued at N80,000 from a mosque.

The prosecution, led by Inspector Abdullahi Wada, informed the court that the incident was reported on March 14 at the Hotoro Police Station by the complainant, Najib Hamisu, who resides at Tishama Quarters, Hotoro. According to Wada, Garba trespassed into the mosque and made away with the amplifier.

In his plea, the defendant admitted guilt to the charges levelled against him.

Judge Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N40,000 with one reliable surety, who must be a blood relation of the accused. The judge adjourned the case until April 23 for trial.
