Kwara State Government Elevates Judicial Welfare with Vehicle Allocation

In a significant move aimed at enhancing the welfare of judges, the Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, presented 11 Toyota Fortuner jeeps to judges, alongside a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser for the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Abiodun Adebara.

During the official presentation ceremony at the State High Court in Ilorin, Chief Judge Adebara disclosed that earlier in February, five Toyota Fortuner Jeeps were allocated to five High Court judges from the 2023 budget. Additionally, five new jeeps, procured under the 2024 approved budget, are designated for another five judges.

Furthermore, Governor AbdulRazaq released seven Toyota vehicles to the judiciary, with six allocated for new judges to be appointed. Adebara emphasized that the provision of a brand new vehicle is a prerequisite for the appointment of a new judge, in line with the requirements of the National Judicial Council (NJC).

Expressing gratitude to Governor AbdulRazaq for his support, Adebara highlighted the positive impact of the administration’s prompt approval and allocation of funds from the 2024 budget for vehicle procurement. He noted that the last time judges received vehicles from the government was eight years ago, underscoring the importance of the new vehicles in enhancing efficiency and the dignity of the judicial office.
