Kwara State Government Denies Involvement in Former Governor’s Corruption Trial

The Kwara State Government has issued a statement refuting any involvement in the ongoing corruption trial of former Governor Abdulfatahi Ahmed. The statement, conveyed by the Commissioner for Communications, Bola Olukoju, emphasized that the government is focused on its governance responsibilities and does not engage in distractions or targeting of individuals, including former public officials.

According to the statement, the trial of the former governor is solely within the purview of anti-graft agencies, which have initiated proceedings based on their investigations into various transactions during his administration. The government denounced accusations from the opposition party as baseless and asserted that the court of law is the appropriate venue to address allegations of wrongdoing.
