Kogi State Governor Condemns Communal Clash, Vows Justice for Victims

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo has expressed shock and regret over the recent communal clash that claimed 19 lives in Agojeju-Odo, Omala Local Government Area. In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, the governor condemned the violence and pledged immediate intervention to prevent further escalation.

Governor Ododo assured swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing that security agencies are already pursuing the assailants responsible for the tragic loss of lives and property. He affirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the state.

A delegation led by the state deputy governor, Joel Salifu, has been dispatched on a condolence visit to the affected area, underscoring the government’s solidarity with the affected communities. The governor also announced plans to deploy a detachment of the Metropolitan Quick Response team to bolster security measures in the region.
