Former Bayelsa Governor Urges Unity and Support for Rivers State Leadership Amid Political Tensions

Former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has called for unity, reconciliation, and unwavering support for the leadership of Rivers State amidst recent political upheavals that threatened to disrupt the state’s stability and progress.

In a meeting with Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other leaders in Port Harcourt, Dickson emphasized the importance of fostering unity and solidarity to overcome political challenges. He praised Rivers State for its remarkable legacy of peace, security, and development, attributing it to the collective efforts of leaders and citizens alike.

Dickson urged all leaders to set aside differences and rally behind Governor Fubara, stressing the need for collaboration in resolving political issues. He discouraged divisive tactics such as blame games and name-calling, emphasizing the significance of unity in promoting peace and progress.

Acknowledging the interventions of President Bola Tinubu and other leaders in stabilizing the state, Dickson urged restraint and political maturity amidst the current situation. He commended the people of Rivers State for their calm demeanor and steadfast support during challenging times.

Meanwhile, Governor Fubara underscored the importance of maintaining faith in God and cautioned against idolizing human beings, including political figures. Despite past disagreements with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, Fubara emphasized the sovereignty of God and the role of divine intervention in shaping one’s destiny.
