Delta State Police Command Arrests Five Suspects for Kidnapping, Robbery, and Cultism

The Delta State Police Command has apprehended five suspects involved in kidnapping, robbery, and cultism activities. According to SP Edafe Bright, the command’s spokesperson, three of the suspects were arrested for their involvement in kidnappings in various areas of the state.

Yakubu Ya’u, Musa Yakubu, and a Cameroonian national, Abdulahi Mohammed, were nabbed following intelligence gathered on kidnapping incidents in the Warri axis. Ya’u, residing in Kaduna but frequently visiting Oha and Ughwagba Communities in Okpe LGA, was identified as the mastermind behind the kidnappings. Subsequent investigations and interrogations led to the arrest of Musa Yakubu and Abdulahi Mohammed, both key members of the gang.

During the operation, police recovered two automatic pump-action guns, a live cartridge, and a knife hidden in Ughwagba Community, Okpe LGA.

In another arrest, Michael Udo, 22, was apprehended by policemen attached to the Ozoro division. A locally made revolver gun and two live cartridges were found during a search of his house.

Additionally, Chinedu Okolo, 31, was arrested in Obiaruku following a distress call about forced cult initiation. Police recovered a locally made double-barreled pistol and the victim’s stolen phone during the operation.
