Delta State Government Commits to Enhancing Peace and Security, Learns from Lagos Model

The Delta State Government has reiterated its dedication to enhancing peace and security within the state, as affirmed by Mr. Daniel Mayuku, the Board Chairman of the Delta Security Trust Fund. Mayuku conveyed this commitment during a visit to Lagos with members of the board and other agency officials to study the operational strategies of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.

In a statement released in Asaba, Mayuku emphasized the state government’s resolve to combat crime effectively, exemplified by the inauguration of the board. He assured stakeholders of the government’s unwavering commitment to addressing the security challenges in Delta State by providing necessary attention and resources.

The working visit to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund included an extensive indoor session where the Delta team learned about the operations and successes of the Lagos agency. Led by Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, the Executive Secretary of the Lagos board, the session provided insights into the modus operandi of the agency and its achievements.

Mayuku highlighted the desire of the Lagos trust fund to see the Delta State Trusts Fund excel and attributed the success of the Lagos agency to the law establishing it. The visit also involved on-the-spot tours of successful security outfits and corporate organizations supported by the Lagos board.

Expressing satisfaction with the visit’s outcome, Mayuku affirmed the State Government’s commitment to implementing actionable ideas gained from its Lagos counterpart to enhance security for its citizens. He assured that the knowledge acquired would be effectively utilized to advance the security agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborewori’s administration.

Similarly, Mr. Sam Osasa, the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, reiterated the board and management’s commitment to the agency’s establishment goal. Osasa underscored the importance of strengthening synergy among Sister Trust Fund Agencies nationwide to facilitate the exchange of ideas.
