Bishop Kukah Acknowledges Nigerians’ Pain, Hopes for Policy Adjustments

On Wednesday, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Hassan Kukah, addressed the media following his meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja. Bishop Kukah acknowledged that Nigerians are experiencing varying levels of pain, which he attributed to the current administration’s policy decisions.

Reflecting on the state of the nation, Bishop Kukah noted, “Nigerians are in various levels of pain, and they are pains that are unintended. But they are the results of certain policy decisions that hopefully, with time, can be amended in order to serve the welfare of the people.”

The clergyman emphasized that it might be premature to make a definitive judgment on the administration’s performance after just one year. “I’m sure many people will tell you that one year is not enough to make a judgment. However, from where we all stand, we know that we are all in a very difficult situation,” he remarked.
