Bad Boy Timz Challenges the Profitability of Music Streams for Artists

Olorunyomi Oloruntimilehin, widely known as Bad Boy Timz, has raised concerns about the limited financial viability of music streams, claiming that revenue generated from platforms like streaming services is not substantial income for artists. In a recent interview with Hip TV, the ‘MJ’ crooner shed light on the financial dynamics of the music industry, emphasizing that many artists end up reinvesting a significant portion of their earnings from music streams back into promotional activities.

Timz advised his fellow artists to shift their focus towards alternative revenue streams, urging them to prioritize live shows, tours, and sponsorships to generate more sustainable income. He stated, “As an artist, you cannot depend on music streams because it is not substantial. Most of the earnings from music streams are reinvested in promotion. So, what I do is go on tours. I’m always trying to get visas to tour different countries. I have been touring for over a year now. So I advised my colleagues to make more money from shows and seek sponsorships.”

Bad Boy Timz’s insights provide a candid perspective on the challenges artists face in maximizing their income in an industry that is evolving with the rise of digital platforms.
