The Forum of All Progressives Congress State Chairmen has unanimously expressed confidence in the leadership of the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje. The endorsement came during a solidarity visit by a delegation of 37 state chairmen to the party’s secretariat in Abuja.
Addressing the gathering, acting chairman of the forum and Lagos APC chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ganduje, describing him as the captain of the ship. Ojelabi emphasized the forum’s commitment to defending Ganduje against external aggression, asserting that they stood firmly behind him.
The endorsement comes amidst recent controversy surrounding Ganduje’s purported suspension by his ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State. Despite the drama surrounding the suspension, including conflicting statements from party members and a court injunction restraining Ganduje from parading as APC national chairman, the forum remains resolute in its support for him.
Ganduje, addressing the audience, expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by the state chairmen. He dismissed the suspension as orchestrated by the New Nigeria People’s Party and Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, likening the entire episode to a scene from “Africa Magic.”
