APC Leaders in FCT Protest Minister Wike’s Partisan Appointments

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) expressed their dissatisfaction with recent appointments made by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, accusing him of favoring his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyalists over APC members.

At a press conference in Abuja, FCT party chieftains criticized Wike for what they described as biased appointments that overlook APC members who contributed to President Bola Tinubu’s electoral victory.

Abdulwahab Ekekhide, a party chieftain in the FCT, highlighted the lopsided nature of Wike’s appointments and his disregard for APC members. He emphasized that Wike’s actions are detrimental to the APC’s political structure in the FCT.

Ekekhide called on President Tinubu to intervene and caution Wike, warning that failure to empower the party could lead to electoral losses for the APC in the FCT. He emphasized the need for Wike to prioritize empowering local party members rather than importing outsiders for political appointments.

Isaac David, the APC Youth Leader of the FCT and an indigene of Abuja, echoed Ekekhide’s concerns, threatening to withdraw support for President Tinubu if Wike continues to marginalize APC members in the FCT. David emphasized the importance of addressing the grievances of indigenes and local party members to secure electoral victories in future elections.
