Agro Rangers Foil Bandit Attack on Federal Grain Silo in Katsina State

Agro Rangers from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) successfully thwarted an assault by suspected bandits on the Federal Government’s grain silo located in the Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to NSCDC spokesman Mr. Buhari Hamisu, the attack took place in the early hours of April 6, with the bandits attempting to damage the silo and abduct its manager, Mr. Lawal Shitu-Yar’adua.

Swiftly responding to the threat, the Agro Rangers engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle that lasted over two hours. Despite the bandits’ attempts to scale the rear fence of the reserve and escape, the courageous operatives overpowered them, inflicting serious injuries in the process.

Fortunately, the silo remained undamaged, and the criminals failed to execute their malicious intentions.

Hamisu reiterated the NSCDC’s commitment to safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure, emphasizing the agency’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the people of Katsina State and Nigeria at large.

In response to the incident, the NSCDC has deployed additional personnel to the location and enhanced the firepower of its operatives to forestall any future attacks on the grain silo.
