Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has dropped hints about a potential return to coaching, with speculations linking him to the soon-to-be-vacant managerial position at Bayern Munich.
Zidane’s comments came during the screening of a documentary honoring former Italy and Juventus coach Marcello Lippi. The Frenchman, who has been out of work since departing from Real Madrid in 2021, has been heavily linked with Bayern Munich following the announcement of Thomas Tuchel’s imminent departure.
Reflecting on his own future during the premiere, Zidane expressed admiration for Lippi, highlighting the pivotal role the Italian coach played in his career. When questioned about the possibility of returning to coaching, Zidane responded positively, stating, “Why not, anything can happen. Now I’m doing other things, but we’ll see – I’d certainly like to return to the bench.”
Zidane’s potential return to management has sparked significant interest, given his remarkable success at Real Madrid, where he secured 11 trophies during his two stints as manager between 2016 and 2021. His track record of achievement has made him a sought-after figure in the football world, with Bayern Munich reportedly considering him as a candidate to lead the club forward.
