In a candid revelation, Alade lamented the pervasive culture of exploitation within the entertainment sphere, where she encountered numerous instances of professionals leveraging promises of opportunities and accolades in exchange for sexual favors. “There was a time in the industry when everyone wanted to sleep with me,” Alade shared, highlighting the coercive environment she navigated early in her career.
Acknowledging the pressures she faced to compromise her principles for professional gain, Alade underscored her steadfast commitment to maintaining her dignity and integrity. “Going down with men was like a bridge I had to cross to get on some platforms, get some deals, and even awards,” she remarked, reflecting on the difficult choices she confronted in pursuit of success.
