Woman Arraigned for Assaulting Policeman in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a 26-year-old woman, Omorogbe Soni, for assault after she was captured on camera assaulting a policewoman in Ajah on February 21, 2024. The incident unfolded during a heated argument between Soni and the policewoman, resulting in Soni pushing the officer to the ground.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed in a statement released on Tuesday that Soni was brought before the Etiosa Magistrates’ Court in Ajah on February 22, 2024. Following the arraignment, Soni has been remanded in the Kirikiri Female Correctional Centre until the next court sitting scheduled for March 27, 2024.

The statement emphasized the seriousness of the assault charge against Soni and reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to upholding law and order. It urged Lagosians to abide by the law in their daily interactions, cautioning that anyone found guilty of violating the law would face appropriate legal consequences.
