Wizkid Reveals Football Was His Backup Career Plan

Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Wizkid has revealed that he would have pursued a career in football if his music career hadn’t taken off. The Nigerian superstar shared that he played on his school’s football team and had a strong passion for the sport, but ultimately chose music due to his impatience and aversion to early morning training sessions.

“If I wasn’t doing music, I would be playing football. I play football real good; I used to be in my school team,” Wizkid said.

Despite choosing music, Wizkid maintains a deep respect for the discipline and demands of football.

In addition to his football aspirations, Wizkid also shared his unconventional approach to personal security. Rather than traveling with bodyguards, he relies on his close-knit management team, whom he considers family.
