Wirtz Double Propels Bayer Leverkusen to Dominant Win Over Feyenoord

Florian Wirtz marked his Champions League debut in style, scoring twice as Bayer Leverkusen secured a comfortable 4-0 victory over Feyenoord. Wirtz opened the scoring early, finding the bottom corner with a well-placed shot from 20 yards in the fifth minute.

Leverkusen’s wing-backs were instrumental in extending the lead, with Jeremie Frimpong providing the assist for Alex Grimaldo’s goal. Frimpong then set up Wirtz again, who volleyed in his second of the night, showcasing his clinical finishing.

The German side sealed the win before halftime when Edmond Tapsoba’s header was deflected into the Feyenoord net by goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther. Despite Feyenoord registering more attempts on goal, Leverkusen’s efficient attack and solid defense ensured a comfortable win.

This defeat marks Feyenoord’s first loss under new manager Brian Priske, who took over from Arne Slot in the summer.
