Wike Declares He’s ‘Too Big’ for Political Opponents to Challenge

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), declared that he is too powerful for anyone to challenge, emphasizing that neither his current nor potential political rivals stand a chance against him.

Speaking at a civic reception organized by the Rivers Ijaw People’s Congress in Port Harcourt, Wike dismissed claims that the Ijaw people are opposing him amidst the political turmoil surrounding Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara. He reiterated that the Ijaw nation remains supportive of him, despite some dissenting voices.

“It is not true that Ijaw people are fighting me,” Wike said, adding, “I am too big for anybody to fight. All these people put together cannot fight me.”

Wike criticized politicians from outside Rivers State for meddling in the state’s affairs, warning that interference would have consequences. He also claimed that an attempt was made to bomb the reception venue, accusing his political enemies of encouraging crime in Rivers State to disrupt progress.

“They sent some boys to come and bomb this place with dynamite. They were arrested by the police,” Wike stated, highlighting his commitment to maintaining peace and security for investors in the state.

The event was attended by prominent members of the PDP’s G-5, including former governors Samuel Ortom, Chikezie Ikpeazu, and David Umahi, as well as Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri and Minister of State for Petroleum Heineken Lokpobiri.
