W.i.S.H.: India’s Rising Girl Group Aims for Global Domination

India, known for its rich musical heritage, is now witnessing a new wave of musical aspiration with the emergence of W.i.S.H., a promising girl group with aspirations to conquer the international music scene. Comprising members Ri, Zo, Sim, and Suchi, W.i.S.H. aims to revive the concept of girl bands in India, a phenomenon not seen in mainstream music for over two decades.

In an exclusive interview with BBC Asian Network, Zo, representing the group, expressed their collective ambition to redefine the music industry by spreading a message of sisterhood and female empowerment through their debut single, “Lazeez.” The song, celebrating the essence of modern womanhood and self-love, encapsulates the group’s ethos of uplifting each other both as artists and individuals.

With the backing of Sony Music Entertainment and renowned music producer Mikey McCleary, W.i.S.H. sets out to break barriers and pave the way for Indian artists on the global stage. Inspired by the recent success of Indian talents like Diljit Dosanjh, the group believes in the potential of “I-pop” to captivate audiences worldwide.
