Renowned veteran actor and esteemed lecturer, Kola Oyewo, has revealed the courageous journey he undertook in fighting prostate cancer, a candid disclosure that has resonated deeply with many.
During a visit to his home in Osun State by fellow actor Kunle Afod, Oyewo recounted the harrowing onset of his health struggle in 2019. It began with difficulties in passing urine, prompting him to seek medical attention, leading to the unsettling diagnosis of an enlarged prostate.
For over two years, Oyewo confronted the ailment with the unwavering support of medical professionals, enduring multiple surgeries aimed at managing the condition. Despite the challenges and the emotional toll of the diagnosis, compounded by his wife’s battle with a stroke since 2017, Oyewo remained resolute in his determination to overcome.
In the face of daunting surgeries and sacrifices, including the acceptance of artificial urine passage and the prospect of sexual activity loss, Oyewo remained focused on his health and recovery. His resilience is evident in his unwavering gratitude for life, acknowledging the support of loved ones while declining public appeals for financial assistance.
