Utaan Calls for North Central Representation in PDP Leadership

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairmanship aspirant from Benue State, Comrade Utaan, has stated that it would be an act of injustice if the North Central region is denied the position in the party’s upcoming convention. Utaan made this claim while addressing the G-14, a group of PDP elders from the 14 Tiv-speaking Local Government Areas in Benue.

Utaan emphasized his vision for reviving the PDP, uniting party members, and restoring the party’s competitiveness on the national stage. He said, “My desire to be PDP National Chairman is to unify our party, rebuild it, and make it competitive in contemporary Nigeria.”

He dismissed accusations that he was behind the removal of former PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iorchia Ayu, clarifying that he merely sought legal interpretation of the party’s constitution during Ayu’s suspension by his local ward.

The G-14 leadership, represented by Dr. Laha Dzever and other party elders, welcomed Utaan’s vision, promising to consult with key party leaders, including former Governor Samuel Ortom, before making a decision. Utaan’s consultation efforts were praised for their clarity and strategic approach to party leadership.
