Men of the Lagos State Police Command, Ikotun Division, have apprehended two individuals, Adamaka Chinyere (female) and Bolajoko Haruna (male), for allegedly kidnapping a female secondary school student. Community residents observed the suspects behaving suspiciously and promptly alerted the police. Police operatives swiftly moved to the community, where they discreetly apprehended Chinyere and Haruna, who had tricked the student into their car and abducted her.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Public Relations Officer, announced the arrest via his Twitter handle, emphasizing the importance of teaching children not to follow strangers. The suspects were caught with a tinted Toyota Camry, which was impounded by the police. They are set to be arraigned once the investigation is concluded. Hundeyin also confirmed that the student has been safely reunited with her family.
Other Arrests by the Lagos State Police Command:
1. Drug Dealer Busted: Operatives from the Sabo Division apprehended a drug dealer, Orji Isaac (67 years old), while he was selling drugs to Lekan Ganiyu (22 years old) during a surveillance patrol. Both individuals will face charges after the investigation.
2. One Chance Robbery: Okoro (45 years old) and Patience (42 years old) were arrested for their involvement in a ‘one chance’ robbery. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. on Saturday. The robbers typically pose as commercial bus drivers, abduct unsuspecting passengers, and defraud them of their belongings.
3. Electricity Cable Vandals Arrested: Chris Abu and Paul Philip were apprehended for allegedly vandalizing electricity cables belonging to the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company Plc. The incident took place on February 18, 2024, following a distress call received from the Lagos State Electricity Board about the activities of cable vandals.
