Tragic Suicide of Architecture Graduate Shocks Imo Community

The community of Umuohii in Oboama, Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, is reeling from the tragic death of 30-year-old Nerus Elemamba, a graduate of Architecture from the Federal Polytechnic Nekede. Nerus was found dead in his room on Monday evening, with reports indicating that he had taken his own life.

According to sources, Nerus had participated in the day’s village manual labor activities with his peers before the incident. Despite appearing healthy and not displaying any signs of depression, he was discovered hanging in his room later that evening.

The news of Nerus’s death has left the community in shock and disbelief. Despite efforts to ascertain the motive behind his actions, no suicide note was found, leaving family and community members puzzled.

Iheukwumere Ibeh, the village youth leader, expressed the community’s bewilderment, stating that Nerus’s sudden demise was unexpected and unprecedented. He confirmed that cultural rituals had been performed, and Nerus was being laid to rest without being taken to a mortuary.
