In a heartbreaking incident in Ilorin, Kwara State, three siblings, two girls, and a boy, were discovered dead inside a parked car at their compound. The tragic incident occurred at No 8, Boluke Line, Zango-Kulende quarters in the Ilorin metropolis.
Reports indicate that the children, left unattended momentarily while their mother, Shade Silifat, went to buy noodles for their school meals, somehow locked themselves inside the parked car. By the time Silifat returned around 2 pm, the children had tragically suffocated inside the vehicle.
Upon discovering their footwear outside the car and realizing what had happened, Silifat raised an alarm and forced the car doors open. The children were immediately rushed to Olutayo Clinic nearby for medical attention. However, they were later referred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where they were confirmed dead.
By Islamic rites, the three siblings were laid to rest in a Muslim cemetery. Efforts to obtain confirmation from the Kwara Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ejire Toun, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
