The toxicology test conducted to ascertain the cause of late music star Mohbad’s death has been concluded, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation. Initially conducted in the United States, the test results were recently transmitted to the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre.
An anonymous official familiar with the case revealed that the results were subsequently sent to the police for further analysis. While the exact findings of the toxicology report remain undisclosed, it has been handed over to the pathologist who conducted the autopsy for interpretation.
Richard Somiari, Director of the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, had earlier assured the public of timely results, emphasizing the meticulous process involved in verifying the cause of Mohbad’s death. The singer’s untimely demise on September 12, 2023, triggered controversies and led to the formation of a special investigation team by the Lagos State Police Command.
Mohbad’s death, occurring at the age of 27, raised questions and prompted scrutiny, especially within the context of his departure from Marlian Music, owned by Naira Marley. The investigation surrounding his death also resulted in the arrest of prominent figures like Naira Marley and Balogun Eletu.
