Tottenham Hotspur has turned down an initial €10m (£8.4m) bid from AC Milan for defender Emerson Royal. The 25-year-old right-back was the subject of both verbal and written offers, which were quickly rejected as Tottenham’s asking price is believed to be double the initial bid.
AC Milan’s interest in Emerson Royal has not led to further negotiations, although there is reported interest from Borussia Dortmund and clubs in Saudi Arabia. While Spurs are open to keeping the Brazilian international, they are also exploring the market for potential replacements should he depart. One such option is Brest defender Bradley Locko.
Tottenham’s primary focus remains on signing a forward following the arrivals of midfielders Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall. The club has also extended Timo Werner’s loan from RB Leipzig.
Manager Ange Postecoglou is currently overseeing pre-season preparations, aiming to build on last season’s fifth-place finish. Spurs are set to play friendlies against Hearts and Queens Park Rangers this week before embarking on a tour of Asia.
