President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has arrived in Maiduguri to sympathize with the people and government of Borno State following the devastating Alau Dam flood disaster. The flood, which occurred on Monday, submerged nearly half of Maiduguri, resulting in significant loss of lives and destruction of properties.
The President arrived around 3:15 pm and was received by Governor Babagana Zulum. He is set to visit the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Umar-Garbai El-Kaneni, and later address displaced persons at one of the 36 camps established by the Borno government to accommodate those affected by the disaster.
The flood has displaced thousands, prompting the state to set up numerous camps to provide immediate relief for victims.
