President Bola Tinubu has pledged his full support for Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji to help improve the lives of Ekiti residents. The President gave this assurance during a thanksgiving service held yesterday at the Cathedral Church, Anglican Communion in Ado-Ekiti, marking Oyebanji’s second year in office.
Represented by Senate Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Tinubu expressed his satisfaction with Oyebanji’s achievements and leadership style, which he said has inspired greater citizen participation in governance. Bamidele praised the governor’s efforts in advancing the state’s development, including the ongoing construction of a flyover, which he reassured critics was backed by “special presidential intervention.”
“The President loves you, and he’s supporting you,” Bamidele conveyed to the governor. “You are enjoying special presidential intervention. You have served well and deserve our continued support to succeed.”
The thanksgiving service saw the attendance of notable figures, including former Governors Niyi Adebayo, Ayodele Fayose, and Kayode Fayemi, as well as both Christian and Muslim clerics who prayed for Oyebanji and the state’s leadership.
Bamidele, who also chairs the Ekiti Caucus of the National Assembly, assured that the lawmakers are committed to working closely with the governor to ensure further development in the state. He called on Oyebanji to stay focused and avoid political distractions, encouraging him to continue delivering for the people of Ekiti.
In his address, Governor Oyebanji offered songs of praise, expressing gratitude to God for his administration’s successes. He extended his thanks to President Tinubu, former governors, and other key stakeholders for their ongoing support.
