Thousands of Shehu Sani’s Supporters Defect to APC in Kaduna

KADUNA – Thousands of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members loyal to Senator Shehu Sani have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State. The defectors, representing the 23 local government areas of the state, gathered at the APC 2023 Campaign Office, expressing their support for Sani’s anticipated return to the party.

The defectors, who carried posters of Senator Sani, revealed that they had been persuading him to rejoin the APC and were confident that his official defection was imminent. Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr. Monday Jaji, a former campaign director for Senator Sani during his time in the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), highlighted Sani’s achievements as a Senator representing Kaduna Central from 2015 to 2019.

“When he was a Senator, Comrade Shehu Sani built seven hospitals across his constituency. He distributed over 200 transformers to communities, assisted the poor masses, and even bought a house for the destitute on Kano road,” Jaji stated, emphasizing Sani’s contributions to his community.

Jaji noted that Sani had constructed hospitals in Chikun, Rigachikun, Giwa, and Igabi local government areas, further enhancing his reputation as a leader committed to public service.

Receiving the defectors, APC Kaduna State Chairman, Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada (Rtd), welcomed the return of Sani’s loyalists, expressing optimism about the positive impact this would have on the party and the state.
