Thomas Tuchel Firm on Departure Despite Fan Petition for Bayern Stay

Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel remains resolute in his decision to depart the club at the end of the season, disregarding a petition signed by over 12,000 supporters urging him to stay.

The 50-year-old, whose departure was announced by Bayern in February, emphasized his unwavering focus on football in the remaining days of the season, dismissing external influences.

“Even though this topic is good for me when they [the fans] wish you to stay, it’s not something that is a priority,” stated Tuchel. “It isn’t allowed to be a priority. In the next 11 days, it’s only about football, nothing else. Whether it’s pleasant or unpleasant, I don’t allow myself to be influenced by it.”

Amid speculation about his successor, including talks with former Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick, Tuchel reiterated that the club holds the responsibility for appointing his replacement. He emphasized his commitment to remaining focused on the task at hand, tuning out distractions.
