On Saturday, the Lagos State Task Force on Environment and Special Offences Enforcement Unit conducted a raid at a notorious drug hub in Agbado-Oke-Odo LCDA, Alimosho Local Government Area. Led by CSP Adetayo Akerele, the operation resulted in the arrest of 124 individuals suspected of drug-related activities and other criminal behaviors.
The state commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed the operation in a statement on X.com. Wahab reported that substances believed to be Indian hemp, Colorado, and codeine syrup were seized during the raid.
In addition to the drug bust, the task force carried out a visibility patrol across the city, addressing various environmental concerns and dismantling illegal street trading operations. The operation also led to the confiscation of additional quantities of drugs and the arrest of street vendors violating sanitation laws.
