Swiatek, Gauff, and Osaka Cruise to Last 32 in Italian Open

In the Italian Open in Rome, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, and Naomi Osaka comfortably advanced to the last 32 with impressive wins.

World number one Swiatek of Poland, aiming for her third title in Rome, delivered a dominant performance against American Bernarda Pera, clinching a 6-0 6-2 victory in just one hour and 17 minutes.

American Gauff secured a 6-3 6-3 win over Poland’s Magdalena Frech in one hour and 28 minutes, showcasing her skill on the court.

Meanwhile, Japan’s Osaka triumphed over world number 20 Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine with a convincing 6-3 6-2 victory, marking her first career win against a top 20 player on clay.

Osaka, reflecting on her upcoming match against world number 11 Daria Kasatkina, expressed humility and a desire to continue learning and improving on clay.
